Mamata inaugurates 42nd International Kolkata Book Fair

Kolkata: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday flagged off 42nd International Kolkata Book Fair at Central Park in Salt Lake City and called upon the authors to be the 'protectors of documentation and books'.
The chief minister released nine books today. Three of them are translations of her works and another book is based on the life and struggle of chief minister herself. Banerjee, who is also an author and a poet, released her own books of non-fiction and poetry.
French delegates along with the French Ambassador to India, Alexandre Ziegler, was also present at the event. The next book fair will be inaugurated on 19 January, the chief minister said.
