Mamata echoes Advani's view on 'democratic courtesy'

Kolkata: Trinamool supremo Mamata Banerjee appreciated BJP veteran L K Advani's views of extending democratic courtesies to Opposition leaders, stating that all Opposition leaders are not anti-national.

In a tweet, she said: "As the seniormost politician, former Dy PM and founding father of BJP, the views AdvaniJi has expressed about extending democratic courtesies is significant. Of course, all Opposition leaders who raise their voices are not anti-national. We welcome his statement & convey our humble regards."

Earlier in the day, Advani broke his silence and wrote in his blog that he never regarded his critics as 'enemies' or 'anti-nationals'.

In the piece, he urged the party to "look back, look ahead and look within" and stressed on "democracy and democratic traditions".
