Malay Ghatak's brother's body found

Kolkata: The body of the elder brother of the state Labour minister Malay Ghatak was found from river Ajay at Burnpur in Asansol on Wednesday morning.

Minister's elder brother Asim Ghatak had drowned in river Damodar on the day of Mahalaya while offering tarpan at a ghat near Bhutaburi Temple Hirapur in Asansol on Tuesday afternoon.

He fell into the river after failing to control his balance as there was heavy current in the water. The search

operation continued for long hours and finally, the body was found on Wednesday

morning a few kilometers away from the spot where he had drowned.

According to the officers of the Disaster Management Group (DMG), the current in the water of the river had dragged the body so far.
