Kolkata: The results of Madhyamik Examination conducted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education will be declared on Tuesday. Board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly will announce the results through a press conference at 9 am and it will be made available on websites from 10 am. The merit list of the top ten rankers will also be released.

The websites on which the results will be made available are www.wbbse.org, http://wbresults.nic.in, www.exametc.com, http://abpananda.abplive.in, www.indiaresults.com, www.results.shiksha, www.schools9.com, www.vidyavision.com, www.jagranjosh.com and www.newsnation.in

The examination for 2019 had begun on February 12 and more than 10 lakh students had appeared for the same. Students will be able to collect their marksheets and certificates from their respective schools on Tuesday itself.

A total of 6,03,311 girls had enrolled to sit for the examination, which was 13.3 percent more than the number of male candidates that stood at 4,61,669.

The maximum number of candidates came from North 24-Parganas at 98,702, while the minimum number was from Kalimpong at 3,619.

It was for the first time this year that sealed packets of the question papers were opened in the examination hall by the invigilator and distributed immediately among the students.

The decision came in the wake of charges of opening the seal of question papers much before the scheduled time by the headmaster of Maynaguri Subhasnagar High School Haridayal Roy, during last year's examination.

Roy had allegedly made question papers of more than one subject available to the topper of the school. The headmaster has since been suspended and disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against him.

However, this year's Madhyamik examination had seen question papers of a number of subjects circulating on WhatsApp, soon after the commencement of the examination.
