Macedonia opens Consul Bureau in city to boost cultural, economic ties

Kolkata: With an aim to boost the cultural and economic ties between Macedonia and Bengal and also to bring both the countries closer, the Republic of Macedonia has opened its Consul Bureau here in Kolkata.
During the official inauguration of Macedonian Consulate bureau here on Hungerford Street, the Ambassador of the Republic of Macedonia Toni Atanasovski stressed on strengthening bilateral relationship with the two countries. He also said that they would urge the state government to promote tourism between West Bengal and Macedonia. Launching of new consulate bureau will bring Kolkata closer to Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Both the countries have rich cultural heritage which will be highlighted through the boosting of tourism between the two countries. Namit Bajoria who has become the Honorary Consul, the Republic of Macedonia in Kolkata said that Skopje and Kolkata shared a long standing relationship both the cities are associated with Mother Teresa.
