Locals lynch anti-social for killing man

Kolkata: The local residents of Panktuli area of Hooghly's Chinsurah on Friday lynched a local anti-social to death as they claimed the he had killed one Seikh Samir.

Samir's body was recovered from an abandoned area close to the TB Hospital. The local residents alleged that the accused known as Patal had killed the victim on Thursday night and later dumped the body near the hospital.

Some of the local residents had spotted the body lying on the road on Friday morning and informed the matter to the police who later reached the spot and recovered the body. Seikh left the house on Thursday afternoon. As he did not return home, his family members started a searching operation. They called up their relatives but they failed to get any trace of the victim. The local people said that the accused Patal might have killed the victim following some rivalry.
