Like Tripura, Bengal will also see change: BJP

Canning (West Bengal): Buoyed by the BJP's epoch-making win in Tripura, the party's West Bengal unit on Sunday said it will bring about a similar change in West Bengal in the near future.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday ended 25 years of uninterrupted rule of the CPIM-led Left Front in Tripura.
"The BJP will bring a similar change in Bengal. When some BJP supporters were killed in Tripura, people changed their mandate. Here also, many more of our supporters have been killed and injured, the mandate will be changed," West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh told reporters.
The BJP-IPFT coalition swept the polls, winning 43 of the 59 seats in Tripura. While the BJP secured 35 seats in the 60-member assembly, its ally IPFT, a tribal based party, won eight seats.
"There is rampant corruption, nepotism and political violence in the state. All this has to stop," Ghosh said, addressing party workers in Aamtala in South 24 Parganas district.
