Let the evil power come to an end, says CM Mamata

Kolkata: "Let the evil power come to an end to ensure development and peace," said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
"There is a false propaganda against Muslim appeasement and unnecessary tension is being created. I have gone to inaugurate so many Pujas and people are living peacefully. Some groups with vested interests are trying to destabilise social harmony in the state," she said while speaking after inaugurating a Durga Puja pandal. Banerjee inaugurated some Puja pandals in both North and South Kolkata on Wednesday. In North Kolkata, she inaugurated the Durga Puja organised by Ahiritola Barowari. She also inaugurated the Durga Puja of Haridevpur 41 Palli, Barisha Club and Behala Natun Dal.
Banerjee said that she likes the sabeki and bonedi pujas in North Kolkata and at the same time, she also appreciated the new ideas and creativity that gets exhibited in South Kolkata.
She said that Durga Puja brings everyone together. "If one says that it is only my puja and allow no one else to participate, then it will be like the story of Selfish Giant," she said.
"Many festivals take place in the entire country and the world. But I can challenge that Durga Puja is the best of all festivals as people from all walks of life get involved in it," she added.
"Navaratri is going to start from tomorrow (Thursday) and it is also our festival," she said after spreading the message of peace and harmony.
"…it is a big industry as it creates job opportunities. People from districts earn their livelihood by working in Puja pandals," she said.
