Labourer, family from Domjur found dead in Telangana

Kolkata: A contractual labourer and three of his family members including a three-month-old baby from Howrah's Domjur were found dead under mysterious circumstances inside their rented house in Telangana.
The victims have been identified as Swarup Gopal Das (37), his wife Dipali Das (30) their daughter Teetli Das (7) and a three-month-old son. Das, originally a resident of Ghoshpara area of Domjur in Howrah was staying with his wife and daughter in Mohan Kali police station area of Secunderabad in Telangana for past five years.
The incident has set a pall of gloom on the family members of the victims back home here at Domjur. According to the family members of the victims, police are yet to ascertain the exact cause of their death.
They were informed by the local police that four members of their family were found dead inside their rented house on Saturday. Das got married around 10 years ago. Before going to Secunderabad he used to work in Mumbai for five years.
It was learnt that Telangana police are suspecting that the victims might have died due to consumption of poison.
They might have consumed poisonous food. Police are investigating if the couple committed suicide after poisoning their children to death.
According to the family members, Das had barrowed a huge amount of money from one of his friends a year ago. But he could not repay the amount despite repeated requests.
The youth who lent him the money recently called him up for money. Police are investigating if the victims took the drastic step after failing to pay the amount. Locals informed police that their room was locked from inside. They did not open the door despite repeated knocks. Police later broke open the door and found the victims lying dead on the floor.
