KP's cyber wing bags NASSCOM-DSCI Excellence Award

Kolkata: The cyber police station of Kolkata Police has received the NASSCOM - Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Excellence Award this year for "Capacity Building of Law Enforcement".
A team of four senior police officers headed by Additional Commissioner of Police (IV) Hari Kishore Kusumakar went to Gurgaon and received the award during an all-India seminar on cyber security in which police personnel from different districts were present.
DC DD (Special) BV Chandra Sekhar and Officer-in-charge of Cyber police station Shantanu Chatterjee also attended the seminar. Kusumakar has also participated in a panel discussion and shared his knowledge on cyber crime and security.
Kolkata Police had also put forward the work it carries out to investigate different cases of cyber crime, the equipment and technology that it uses and the steps it takes to create awareness on cyber security. It has fetched the award from Kolkata Police's Cyber police station. According to an officer of the Cyber police station, they have given the details of cases they have solved in the past few months. It may be mentioned that the Cyber police station has solved a complaint of the Thai Consulate, related to an issue of social networking and many other critical cases.
They also create awareness among students in different schools considering the effect of different social networking sites and online activities on them.
