Kolkata's 'fire chaser' heckled by security guard in CMCH

Kolkata: Padma Shree Bipin Ganatra, a social worker, was heckled by some security guards in the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital. The incident took place on Wednesday when he went for his treatment.
Ganatra is well known in Kolkata for rushing to any site where fire breaks out and to become a part of the team of the fire fighters of the state fire and emergency services department to douse the flames.
According to a complaint lodged with Bowbazar police station, Ganatra went to the hospital on Wednesday as he was filing unwell while doing some household work. He went to the hospital with one of his friends.
It has been learnt that there was exchange of words between Ganatra and a security personnel of the hospital over the parking of his car. Despite requesting that he was not feeling well and was not in a condition to talk to him right at that moment, he was allegedly being forced to wait unnecessarily over the issue of parking.
People gathered at the place and some of them settled the issue, helping Ganatra to enter the hospital for treatment.
Later, a security guard went inside the ECG centre in the hospital where Ganatra was supposed to undergo certain tests and once again started shouting at him.
It has been alleged that a security guard even attempted to beat up Ganatra, but couldn't when some people intervened and saved the social worker from getting manhandled. The police are looking into the allegations of Ganatra.
