Kolkata, South Bengal districts may experience light to moderate rain

Kolkata: The Regional Meteorological Department at Alipore has predicted that city and some parts of South Bengal may witness light to moderate rainfall in the next few days as low pressure trough has formed over the Bay of Bengal.
It may be good news for the people who are waiting for the winter to set in as the untimely rain may bring down the temperature. According to the weather office, untimely rain may bring down the temperature in the city by a few notches. The prediction also says that the sky in some of the South Bengal districts may remain cloudy in the next two days.
The Alipore weather office did not, however, mention when the city will be able to enjoy the winter chill.
The untimely rain may bring the temperature down by one or two degrees. The prediction of rainfall have left some anxious as they are fearing that the showers may further aggravate the dengue situation in the state.
The state government has come up with stats stating that there have been deaths due to dengue in the state. People are apprehending that the situation may further complicate if there is incessant rain.
On the other hand, another section believe that the disease may subside if the temperature goes down with the setting of winter.
The prediction also said that the sky may remain overcast in some of the North Bengal districts. However, there was no alert of rainfall in the North Bengal districts as yet.
A senior official of the Alipore Regional Met office said that a low pressure trough was currently developing over Bay of Bengal which might bring in thundershowers in some parts of the South Bengal districts.
