Kolkata Police steps up security for July 21

Kolkata: In a bid to secure the city during the gathering on July 21 by Trinamool Congress, Kolkata Police has made elaborate security and traffic arrangements.

According to senior officials of Kolkata Police, a 5,000-strong police force will be deployed on July 21 across the city and special police pickets will be set up in vulnerable areas.

Strict vigil will be kept in the Metro stations, bus terminuses and railway stations. Also, to counter any untoward situation, Heavy Radio Flying Squads (HRFS) and Quick Response Teams (QRT) will be deployed at strategic points in the city.

To keep strict vigil in and around the gathering and meeting stage, watchtowers will be used.

Apart from these steps, fire brigade and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel will also be kept ready in case of any emergency situation. In four places, giant screen will be set up for the spectators.
