Kolkata Police livens up walls of Kaspa PS with informative paintings in bid to make it friendlier

Kolkata: In a bid to make people of all ages aware of different social issues, the Kolkata Police has taken up a unique step and decorated the walls of Kasba police station with beautiful paintings.
The paintings convey various messages on different social issues. All the paintings have one common feature, which is the presence of a little dog through whom the messages are spread.
It has been shown in the painting how the small dog is stopping a girl from crossing a road by flouting traffic norms.
Again, there is a painting on a wall in which the necessity of planting trees has been depicted and in another one, the necessity of keeping our surroundings clean has been shown.
The main idea behind taking the step is to make the police station friendly to children and citizens alike. Residents of the area have appreciated the move of the police and stated that all the police stations in the city should be decorated with such art.
It may be mentioned that besides taking the step of making the police station child friendly, the Kolkata Police has already set up child friendly corners (CFC) at different police stations.
The CFCs were set up for distressed children, where they will not get panicked seeing policemen in uniform in front of them.
There are CFCs in Ultadanga, Karaya and Tollygunj police stations. The CFCs are run by the Kolkata Police in collaboration with an NGO that mainly works for children.
CFCs are also decorated similarly to create a soothing atmosphere for distressed children, as studies have revealed that they get panicked upon seeing policemen in uniform and it leaves a deep impact on their life.
