Kolkata likely to get drenched again this weekend

Kolkata: The regional meteorological office at Alipore has predicted that it is likely to rain in the city and in some parts of South Bengal districts by the end of this week if the low pressure trough that has formed over Bay of Bengal gets further intensified.
The prediction also says that the low pressure trough situated in the South-East direction of Bay of Bengal may influence the temperature in the city. The temperature may also go up due to the low pressure trough.
City dwellers may witness a slight change in weather towards the end of this week as the low pressure trough may be intensified in next 48 hours.
The normal flow of winter chill may get interrupted due to the trough. According to the prediction of the weather office, temperature may soar high, triggering discomfort among people. If the low pressure trough gets intensified in next few days leading to rise in temperature, it may have an adverse effect on people. City doctors said that if the temperature fluctuates as predicted by the weather office, it may be a major cause of concern for the city dwellers. There is always a possibility of people falling sick if there is a sudden change in weather, especially if the normal flow of winter chill gets interrupted. Weather experts said that on some parts of South Bengal, the sky may remain overcast at the end of this week. Apart from the city, districts like Hooghly, Howrah, North and South 24-Parganas may also receive rainfall. The weather office also said that the low pressure trough may move towards Tamil Nadu and the South-East direction of Andaman. It may be mentioned here that few weeks ago, another low pressure trough had formed over Bay of Bengal, that had brought untimely rain and also resulted in a dip in temperature.
