Chief Minister begins 3-day tour of East Midnapore today

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be on a three-day tour to East Midnapore district from Monday during which she will be inaugurating a host of developmental projects in the district, besides laying the foundation stones of many others.
Banerjee is scheduled to hold two public distribution programmes — one at Nandakumar on Monday and the other at Police Holiday Home on Tuesday. She is slated to inaugurate a series of new projects and provide financial assistance to the beneficiaries under various development schemes initiated by the state government.
A senior administrative official in the district said the Chief Minister will inaugurate a power project at Nandakumar among many others. She will also flag off four new bus services in the district during the programme. A series of water projects undertaken by the Public Health Engineering department would also be inaugurated by her.
The official further added that many hostels for minorities that have come up at various places in the district will be inaugurated by her.
Banerjee will also inaugurate many market hubs named "Karmatirtha" throughout the district. A new building of Marishda police station and a new BLRO office would also be inaugurated. She is expected to lay foundation stones of a number of new projects too.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to reach Digha by 3 pm on Tuesday. She will hold an administrative review meeting at Runswick House at Old Digha on Wednesday and take stock of various developmental projects carried out by various departments in the districts. Banerjee will also assess the progress of various social schemes taken up by her government as well.
