Eastern Railway adopts steps for better services

In order to maintain transparency in administration and to improve passenger comfort, Eastern Railway has adopted a series of measures in various fields of activities and has achieved success.

In Sealdah Division, complete e-tendering system has been adopted. LED illumination of 35 stations including Sealdah too has been completed.

Non-Interlocking work at Sealdah (South) has been completed and heights of 28 platforms have been raised.

One 9-car air suspension EMU rake with GPS-based passenger information system has been put into service for the first time in the division.

Frequency of Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express has been increased to tri-weekly and presently run by LHB rake.

New platforms at Bethuadahari, Subarnamrigi, Habibpur, Paglachandi and Sonadanga have been constructed and commissioned.

Foot Overbridges at nine stations have been completed and commissioned.

Doubling work between Jiagung and Bhagwangola, Bethuadahari and Palassey, Kalinarayanpur and Shantipur, Dakshin Barasat and Mathurapur Road, Palassey and Beldanga, Mathurapur Road and Lakshmikantapur and Jiagunj and Cossimbazar have been commissioned.
