Webel turnover exceeds Rs 52 crore in 2016-17

The turnover of Webel Informatics Limited (WIL) in the financial year 2016-17 exceeded Rs 52 crore from a meager turnover of Rs 50,000 in the year 1984-85, which is a growth of more than 1,000 times.

The company, a subsidiary of West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited (WBEIDCL), will look forward for further growth and has taken a target to achieve the turnover of Rs 100 crore in the financial year 2017-18. The corporation through its subsidiary companies was in the business of manufacturing various electronics components and equipment. Webel Informatics Limited is one such subsidiary.

The constant nurturing and funding by WBEIDCL has made this possible for Webel Informatics Limited, a source in state information technology and electronics department said. The subsidiary will announce its achievement on Monday in a programme where Information Technology minister Bratya Basu, Krishna Gupta, Principal Secretary, IT and Electronics will be present.

Webel Informatics Limited produces around 20,000 industry-ready professionals every year.
