KMC help desks to guide and assist contractual teacher test candidates

Kolkata: The Education department of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided to set up help desks for the candidates who will be applying for the written examination for recruitment of 100 contractual teachers in KMC schools.
The examination is scheduled to be held on December 31 and yet, many of the candidates have been unable to download admit cards for the examination from the website. The help desk will be available from December 26 to 29 at the KMC headquarters.
It has been learnt that the help desk will be set up with the assistance of WEBEL and this will facilitate those who have been unable to download their admit cards. The department had received 18,198 applications for the recruitment, while 17,127 candidates have been selected to appear for the written test.
Member Mayor-in-Council (Education) Avijit Mukherjee said on Thursday that till date, around 11,000 candidates have been able to download admit cards. "Some of the aspiring candidates have called up on our helpline number and have said that they are facing problem in downloading," an official said.
The candidates who are eligible to appear for the examination have already been informed of their respective roll numbers through SMS and e-mail. Examinations will be held in as many as 17 centres in the city from 12noon to 1:30 p.m.
South City College, Maulana Azad College, Basanti Devi College, Bangabasi College, Tirthapati Institution and Gurudas College are among the centres that have been selected as examination venue.
The civic body's Education department is making elaborate security arrangement at all the examination venues for smoothly conducting the examination.
