KMC contractual teacher exam to be held on Dec 31

Kolkata: Written examination for the recruitment of 100 contractual teachers in schools under Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will be held on December 31. The KMC has received 18,198 applications in this regard and the number of candidates who have been selected to appear for the written test is 17,127.
Member, Mayor-in-Council (Education) Avijit Mukherjee said on Friday that the candidates who are eligible to appear for the examination will be informed of their respective roll numbers through SMS and e-mail by December 16. The candidates not be getting the roll numbers can contact KMC's education department personally or through e-mail. Examinations will be held in as many as 17 centres in the city from 12 noon to 1.30 pm. South City College, Maulana Azad College, Basanti Devi College, Bangabasi College, Tirthapati Institution and Guridas College are among the centres selected as examination venue. Candidates can download their admit cards for the examination from www.kmc.gov.in.
The civic body's education department has already strengthened vigil at the schools in the wake of the incident of sexual abuse at GD Birla Centre for Education. "I will speak with the Mayor and if he gives us the nod then we will place the proposal for installing CCTVs at the schools."
