Judges, police & doctors share ideas to combat human trade at workshop

Kolkata: BaruipurBankim Smriti Fauzdari Adalat Bar Association and International Justice Mission Kolkata conducted a workshop on "Management of Human Trafficking Cases" for the advocates of Baruipur Court.

The workshop was held at the Bar Library Hall of the Baruipur Bankim Smriti Fauzdari Adalat Bar Association on the Baruipur court premises.

Dignitaries such as

Additional District and Sessions Judge Paresh Chandra Karmakar, Fast Track Court Judge Ramendra Nath

Makhal, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ayan Kumar Banerjee, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kuntal Bhattacharya, First Civil Judge (Senior Division) Raja Mukherjee, Second Civil Judge (Senior Division) Tarun Kr Mondal, Judicial Magistrate Dewyani Rai, First Civil Judge (Junior Division) Ganesh Das, Third Civil Judge (Junior Division) Sourav Dey, Biswajit Sukul, head of department, Forensic, Calcutta Medical College, and Saji Philip, Director of Operations, IJM Kolkata graced the occasion.

"This is a first of its kind at Baruipur Court where judges, police and doctors are present under one roof for a workshop. This will help them to work together in a collaborative effort," said the judicial magistrate, Dewyani Rai.

Around 70 advocates, who are practicing in the Baruipur Court and a few prosecutors from other courts, attended the workshop.
