JU to confer D.Litt on Pranab Mukherjee

Kolkata: Jadavpur University will confer D.Litt on former President of India Pranab Mukherjee as part of its contribution in various fields. The award will be handed over to Mukherjee on December 24 at the convocation ceremony of JU, a senior university official said. A letter in this regard has already been sent to him. Eminent physician Ajay Kumar Sid and director of Indira Gandhi centre for Atomic Research, Arun Kumar Bhaduri will also be conferred D Litt.
Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi and state Education minister Partha Chatterjee have been invited to attend the event.
