JSW Youth Academy to launch in June

Kolkata: The Youth Academy at Salboni, where local boys and girls will get an opportunity to undertake football training, will be launched in June.
JSW Group, which owns the Bengaluru Football Club, already has its main youth academy in Karnataka.
As a part of its CSR project, JSW Group is also bringing up two more youth academies. One is at Salboni where the company has its cement plant and other units, while the second such campus is in Nagpur.
After a period of training in these two camps, youths will be selected on the basis of their performance and they will be sent to the residential academy in Karnataka.
The football academy is coming up on a 3 acre plot in Salboni and is situated close to the cement factory of the group.
It may be mentioned that local youths are having immense talent in athletics and football. So, the step of setting up of the academy will be helpful in identifying talented youths and providing them better infrastructure to improve further.
At the same time, the group has taken up an agricultural project, where only land givers were put to work.
The agriculture project will come up on a total area of 175 acres. Initially, the work has been started on 42 acres in the first phase and 21 land givers are being engaged there. Vegetables and different fruits including guava, pomegranate, etc will be cultivated in the arid land, using modern technologies.
The profit out of the agricultural project will be distributed among the land givers.
