Japanese film festival in city on February 10, 11

Kolkata: Consulate General of Japan in Kolkata along with Japan Foundation and the state Information and Cultural Affairs Department will organise a two-day film festival on February 10 and 11.
The films will be screened at Nandan II. Noted film director Gautam Ghosh and Masayuki Taga, Consul General of Japan will be present at the inaugural function.
The festival titled "Shape of Life" will screen Japanese movies produced by contemporary directors. Four films will be screened. Pecoross' Mother directed by Azuma Morisaki will be shown at the festival. Being Good directed by Mipo O will also be shown. The story of the film goes like Okano is a rookie elementary school teacher and is always stressed out because his students won't listen to him.
Meanwhile, Masami a young mother is also stressed as she continues to abuse her daughter. Their lives intertwine and they discover hope anew.
The other two films which will be screened include All Around Us which is directed by Ryosike Hashiguchi and Sketches of Kaitan City directed by Kazuyoshi Kumakiri.
The entry to the festival is free.
The films have English sub titles. The film festival has created huge enthusiasm among foreign film lovers in the city.
