Jadavpur cops arrest two accused of theft

Kolkata: The Jadavpur police station on Sunday arrested two persons, including a maid servant in connection with theft of jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh and around Rs 25,000 cash from a house at Kalibari Lane. "Dipti Mondal, the maid servant of Paschim Beralia under Magrahat police station area in South 24-Parganas and the driver of the owner of the house Joyram Kumar Routh of Mukundapur, have been arrested and almost all the stolen articles have been recovered from the possession of the accused persons," a senior police officer of Jadavpur police station said. The complaint was lodged by Kousik Bhattacharya on Saturday night. He had gone to Kashmir for a family tour between December 23 and 30 and when he returned, he found the things were missing.
