IPF in talks with govt for developing poly park

Kolkata: The Indian Plastic Federation is in talks with the state government for developing a poly park at Sankrail in Howrah in a PPP model. "A number of members of our Federation have evinced interest to come up and invest in the poly park. We need around 100 acre of land for the project. So we are holding talks with the state Industry department in this regard," president of Indian Plastic Federation Aloke Tibrewala said on Friday on the sidelines of Petrochem 2017 organised by Indian Chamber of Commerce.
According to Tibrewala, 100 acre of land may entail an investment of Rs 8,000 crore. "The production of plastic in the eastern region needs to have a boost and there are a number of proposals for plastic units from various members already," he added.
