Intellectuals happy with state's steps to restore peace in Bhatpara

Kolkata: The intellectuals of the state who had gone to trouble-torn Bhatpara, have expressed satisfaction over the steps taken by the state government to restore peace in the area.

Actor and theatre personality Kaushik Sen went to Nabanna, the state administrative headquarters and submitted a report to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday in this regard.

It has been learnt that Banerjee had invited Sen along with other intellectuals who had visited Bhatpara to Nabanna.

The intellectuals had carried out a procession to restore peace in Bhatpara. They spoke to the local people and submitted a memorandum to the local police station. On Monday, Sen handed over a letter written by the intellectuals to Banerjee.

Banerjee also handed over a letter to Sen, containing the steps taken by the administration to restore peace in the area.
