Indranil visits Sabuj Deep to inspect work for Eco Tourism Centre

Tapan Dasgupta, president of District Trinamool Congress and minister for Agriculture Marketing and Indranil Sen, Minister of State for Tourism and Information and Cultural Affairs on Saturday visited Sabuj Deep to inspect the ongoing works of a world-class Eco Tourism Centre there.

The ministers inspected the spot and asked the senior district officials to accelerate the pace of the work. Sabuj Deep is situated at Somra in Hooghly on river Hooghly.

Dasgupta said that state government sanctioned funds for developing Sabuj Deep into a world class tourism centre. All the modern facilities would be available at the Sabuj Deep where the visitors can pass their time on the bank of Hooghly River.

There is a plan to set up cottage with all modern facilities where people can spend their precious time with their family. As a part of overall development of tourism infrastructure across the state, the Tourism department is trying to promote Sabuj Deep as a major tourist destination.
"All the modern facilities including cottages, restaurants and many other facilities would be available at Sabuj Deep. We inspected the spot today (Saturday) as there was a delay in the work.

We asked the administration to pace up the work. It is expected that the whole project would be completed within August this year," Dasgupta said.

After taking a stock on the present status of the work the two ministers asked the District Magistrate of Hooghly who was accompanying them to expedite the work.

The district officials believe that after completion of the work, the Eco Tourism Centre at Sabuj Deep would attract a huge number of visitors from across the state for its natural beauty.
