Indian Dental Association conducts workshop on preventive dentistry

Kolkata: A two-day of workshop on interceptive and myofunctional appliances was organised by department of pedodontics and preventive dentistry in association with Indian Dental Association, state branch, at the Dr.R Ahmed Dental College and Hospital for the first time in Eastern India.

Prof. Dr Baby John, president Indian Society of Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry was the chief guest of the programme while prof Dr Bimalendu Saha , deputy secretary of the department of Health and Family Welfare and Dr Tapan Giri, Principal of R. Ahmed Dental College graced the occasion.

Dr Partha Pratim Chowdhury, assistant professor of Dr R Ahmed Dental College and Hospital was appointed as an observer from West Bengal Dental Council.

Distinguished personalities such as Dr T K Pal, Dr J K Singh , Dr Subhra Nandi, Dr Pranab Banerjee, Dr Sitangshu Ghosh, Dr Timir Baran Sarengi, Dr Sibram Karmakar, Dr Jiban Mishra ,Dr Amitava Chakroborty, Dr Tirthankar Debnath, Dr R D Rekhade ,Dr Anant Pal Singh also took part the programme.

Dr Raju Biswas secretary IDA West Bengal State Branch said: "Innovative workshops helps participants to specialise on latest expertise of pedodontic dentistry. Especially in an era of development in dentistry such seminars and workshops provide the latest updates in patient service."

Dr Biswas also added: "We hope to conduct more such workshops in future for the betterment of people and spreading awareness. I thank all the participants to make this program a grand success."
