In Cabinet meet, state govt plans to increase ration allowance for cops

Kolkata: There is a good news for policemen ahead of this Durga Puja with the Mamata Banerjee-government deciding to increase their ration allowance.
In the Cabinet meeting that was held in Nabanna on Thursday, the decision to increase the ration allowance for policemen from the rank of constable to sub-inspector (SI) was taken.
It is learnt that the policemen from the constable to SI ranks at present get Rs 1,000 as ration allowance every month. Now, the state government has decided to increase it to Rs 1,500.
This is another humane approach of the Mamata Banerjee-government towards its employees and the decision has made the beneficiaries happy.
The increase in the ration allowance will benefit the policemen immensely and it has been lauded by the policemen. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for the state government employees just a few days ago. She had announced that 15 percent DA will be increased from January 2018. Banerjee had also assured that all arrears of the state government employees will be paid by 2019.
The state government has taken several steps for the policemen. Most importantly, initiates were taken to improve the condition of the barracks where they need to stay for the sake of duty.
The Chief Minister had stated earlier that the policemen give their best in protecting common people because of the immense support that they get from their family members. So, the state government takes all necessary steps so that the policemen and their family members do not face any sort of problem.
It may be mentioned that the Mamata Banerjee-government has taken all steps to improve the condition of the police hospital to ensure better health services to the policemen.
