Howrah Division of fire dept takes up steps
The Howrah Division of the state Fire and Emergency Services department has taken up several measures to create awareness among people about fire safety norms.
In a bid to avoid any incident of fire, stress has been given on creation of awareness among people besides taking necessary steps to create proper infrastructure for better fire fighting.
According to a senior officer posted in the Howrah Division of the state Fire and Emergency Services department, creating awareness among people is the most proactive way of avoiding untoward incidents. People are sure to take steps to prevent fire when they are aware of the details as to what they actually need to do to avoid fire in their houses, offices, shops and factories.
There are different measures that one has to follow to avoid any incident of fire in these places. In a bid to create awareness among people, the Howrah Division has come up with a leaflet containing details that one must follow.
The Fire department has clearly mentioned what one must do to prevent fire if he or she is a resident of a multi-storeyed building. Steps have also been taken to create awareness on what should be done if a fire breaks out in a multi-storeyed building and people are trapped inside it.
They have also tried to make people aware of the fact about what should be done to prevent fire in schools and other places where hundreds of people gather at a time.
People have also been made aware about what needs to be done to prevent fire when they travel from one place to another in trains or buses.
Most importantly, the Fire department has urged the people not to make any prank calls in their emergency numbers as it may lead to major loss of a person who would find the line busy incase he needs to make an urgent call and needs help right at that moment.
