Honour killing: Mother kills daughter over affair

Kolkata: A 12-year-old girl was killed allegedly by her mother. The victim's body was found buried in a vacant plot near Heria railway station in East Midnapore on Sunday morning.
Police said the victim, Dipali Kamila, was a class V student and she was missing since January 13.
The girl went missing on way to her school. After searching her in different places, her father lodged a complaint with the police.
The police initiated a probe and searched all possible places. But they failed to get any information about Dipali. The victim's relatives and friends too failed to give any clue that would have helped the police to find her out.
On Sunday morning, some locals were working in the vacant plot near Heria railway station when they felt that something was buried at a corner of the plot. They informed police.
Police from local police station went to the spot and found that Dipali's bodu buried. The body was exhumed and sent for an autopsy.
After preliminary investigation, the police suspected that the victim's mother was behind the crime and interrogated her. Initially, she attempted to distract the police but finally she confessed her guilt.
Though locals came up with different reasons that led to the crime, police suspect that the woman killed her daughter because she had an affair. Police also suspect that she was strangulated to death. Thus, police are now waiting for the autopsy report.
A police officer said there is at least one more person behind the crime as it is never possible for a woman to kill and bury a 12-year-old girl all alone.
The police are interrogating the mother to know who helped her to commit the crime. They also spoke to some of her neighbours to get more information.
