HIDCO floats Expression Of Interest for Snehodiya

KOLKATA: West Bengal Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) on Sunday floated Expression Of Interest (EOI) for their proposed senior citizen home at New Town. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had christened the senior citizens habitat Snehodiya that will come up on a one acre plot just opposite the community building of 'Swapna Bhor'- the senior citizens' park.
Interestingly, the EOI has been invited for services in as many as 10 areas that will be an intrinsic part of the living facilities there. "EOI for services have been sought in outdoor escorting services, hospital tie ups, consultant physician checks, smart health monitors and pathology, personal nurses or attendants, ambulance services, laundry services, yoga-physiotherapy, reading, counselling, adda and others," a senior HIDCO official said.
The EOI also clearly states the terms and conditions that involves 31 points, of which, the important ones are: the service providers should have at least a year's experience of providing the service in which he/she is willing to apply, there should be valid trade licenses or other requisite licenses, and will have to submit credentials in support of his/her claim, no conditional EOI will be accepted. "There is no restriction in applying for more than one services but separate applications should be submitted," the official added.
HIDCO chairman Debasish Sen chaired a meeting with top officials on Saturday before going forward with the EOI. The last date for submitting the EOIs has been set at August 31, 2017.
As per plans, Snehodiya will have more than 100 rooms and 200 beds. One of the unique aspects of the project is that whenever one vacates a room, 75 percent of the price that will be paid at the time of entry will be refunded to the occupant or his or her heirs. The cost of food and maintenance will be charged on a monthly basis.
