HIDCO chalks out plan to welcome guests during Puja

Kolkata: New Town is all set to welcome guests and those who come back home during the Pujas.
The Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) has chalked out a well-knit plan to touch the heart of the guests.
Dhakis dressed in colourful attires will play dhaks to welcome the guests on the day of Mahalaya which is September 19. Again, dhaks will be played from Chaturthi to Sasthi, that is, September 24 to 26. Special platforms will be set up at four sites at Akankha More, Eco Park, Mother's Wax Museum and bus stand at Action Area I to welcome the guests. New Town will be brightly illuminated. HIDCO has decided to light up the replica of seven wonders at Eco Park too.
Café Ekante at Eco Park, will offer fixed menu for buffet. The restaurant named by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has become immensely popular among the foodies. One has to book tables beforehand on weekends and during festivals. The houseboat restaurant has also become quite popular. It may be mentioned that Café Ekante has opened an outlet near the bus terminus at Action Area I exclusively for South Indian cuisine.
HIDCO along with New Town Kolkata Development Authority, state Transport department and Bidhannagar Commissionerate had recently held a meeting and chalked out a comprehensive traffic management plan for New Town and Salt Lake during the pujas and the subsequent Under 17 World
Cup football tournament. The Biswa Bangla Sarani that connects Chinar Park with Eastern Metropolitan bypass has been thoroughly repaired to facilitate those who use the road.
