Guard killed for attempting to thwart theft

Kolkata: A security guard of Asutosh Mill Complex area in Siliguri was killed by some unidentified miscreants when he tried to stop them from looting valuables of a shop.

A gang of miscreants broke into an electronics goods shop. The security guard who was conducting a vigil in the area came to know about the incident. He found the miscreants looting valuables.

When he stopped the miscreants, they hit him on his head and fled from the spot. The victim was later rescued by the locals and sent to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

According to the hospital sources, the victim died of excessive bleeding. He had a deep wound on his head which make the police believe that the miscreants were carrying sharp weapons.

After being informed, the police reached the spot and started an investigation.
