Govt sanctions ex-gratia pay for pensioners

Kolkata: The state Finance department on Friday announced the grant of ex-gratia payment to the state government pensioners, for the year 2018-19.
Employees who retired prior to September 30, 2018 and whose basic pension plus dearness relief on pension as on March 31, 2019 did not exceed Rs 26,000 and are not eligible for ad-hoc bonus, shall be paid an ex-gratia grant of Rs 2,100.
The step has been taken to provide relief to the state government pensioners during the ensuing festivals.
The payment of ex-gratia would be made before the festival of Id-ul-Fitre for the Muslim Pensioners/Family Pensioners and for others, the benefits should be disbursed between September 23 and October 1.
