Govt asks Rites to make plans to decongest Sealdah

the state government has urged Rites to carry out a study to ensure congestion-free traffic movement around Sealdah Station. Sources said thousands of people use the thoroughfares around Sealdah Station to reach their destinations. Thus, hundreds of vehicles everyday pass through the area and it sometimes leads to traffic congestion. Moreover, the East-West Metro will be passing through Sealdah Station and it would increase the traffic load in the area. Thus, to ensure congestion-free traffic movement in the area, the state government would take necessary steps and to do so urged Rites to carry out a detailed study.
