GAP scheme of SBI-RKM tie-up gets boost with donation of Rs 18.12 lakh

Kolkata: With an aim to improve health and education of the underprivileged section of society, State Bank of India has been working with Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math for a long time now and together, they have undertaken many initiatives.
Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa (GAP) is one such noble initiative of the Mission through which the organisation has adopted around 1,200 poor children of 5 -year-old in 19 centres across the country for imparting primary education till they become 11-year-old. SBI, Kolkata Circle has been supporting 3 such centres for 3 years.
On January 23, 2018, Shri Partha Pratim Sengupta, Chief General Manager, Kolkata Circle handed over a cheque of Rs 18,12,570 to Swami Suvirananda, General Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. A total donation of Rs 52.60 lakh has been sanctioned for the project in presence of Swami Bodhasarananda, Asst General Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur and Shri Ranga Rajan Komanduru, DGM(B&O), State Bank of India, Howrah Module. Senior monks of Ramakrishna Mission and other senior officials of SBI were also present.
