Fusion of old & youth a grand feat at Brigade rally

Kolkata: The United India rally which was held at the Brigade Parade Ground on Saturday witnessed a perfect blend of old and new faces.

Along with the veterans, there were a number of young Turks like Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Hardik Patel, Jignesh Mevani, Hemant Soren and Jayant Chowdhury who were heard with rapt attention.

Addressing the gathering, Akhilesh said: "They (BJP) say we've a lot of contenders for PM's post... we say people will decide who'll become PM. As elections are approaching, you are forming alliance with the CBI and ED while we are forming alliance with the people of India."

Hardik Patel drew a comparison between the movement launched by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and the present movement. Jignesh said the faster India can get rid of RSS-BJP rule, the better it is.

Hemant Soren, Jayant Chowdhury felt to bring about "acche" din, "Modi should be ousted." Tejashwi Yadav said BJP is letting loose Central agencies to stop those who are criticising them.
