Former KMC councillor found dead

Kolkata: An elderly person was found dead in the parking lot of an upscale club located on Sarat Bose Road, on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sawarmal Bhimsaria (75) of Tarachand Dutta Street in Jorasanko.

According to sources, on Wednesday at around 6:15 am, security persons of the said club saw Bhimsaria lying unconscious at the parking lot. He was immediately rushed to SSKM Hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Police later found a note where it was written that he was committing suicide over some family dispute. According to the police, no foulplay has been detected in this connection.

Bhimsaria was a former councillor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation during the early 90's. He used to be a Congress member at that time. He was also selected for the post of borough chairman during his tenure as councillor.
