For Kolkata Shree awards, Puja organisers to include branding of U-17 World Cup

Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has directed all Puja organisers applying for Kolkata Shree awards to include branding of Under-17 World Cup as part of its campaign. As many as 10 matches including the final of the Under-17 World Cup will be held in Kolkata in October.
Mayor Sovan Chatterjee on Tuesday kicked off the process of accepting entries for Kolkata Shree awards at the KMC headquarters.
The KMC in association with CESC felicitates various Durga Puja organizers with 'Kolkata Shree' award on Shasthi every year. Chatterjee had started this award from the year 2012 when the best Pujas of 2011 were given prizes.
The entries for Kolkata Shree will be accepted till September 15 following which a 25-member faculty team from Government Art College will go and select 100 best Pujas in the city on the basis of the entries.
"We have identified an agency who will capture videos of these Pujas. A two hour capsule will be made and aired in the KMC headquarters on Shasthi. There will be a panel of 10 judges who will view the video and select 36 best Pujas," Chatterjee said.
The Mayor will select more than 20 best Pujas as per his own choice.
The awards will be presented late afternoon on Shasthi itself. Some of the categories in which the awards will be given include: best idol, best ambience, best lighting, best cleanliness, best environment, best of the best and Mayor's choice.
