Footballer murder: One more person arrested

Kolkata: Police arrested one more person in connection with the mysterious death of 21-year-old footballer Snehashis Dasgupta.

Police said one Tuhin Saha was arrested from Seoraphuli area on Thursday morning. With the arrest of Tuhin, a total of four persons have been arrested in this connection.

The police had earlier arrested Pintu Nag, the husband of a local Councillor, Kaliranjan Saha and Pratap Mondal. They were produced before the court on Wednesday.

The Councillor's husband was sent to judicial custody while the other two were remanded in police custody.

While interrogating Kaliranjan and Pratap, police came to know that the victim had a fight with Tuhin on the night of Nabami. Police found injury marks on Tuhin's body as well. During the fight, Snehashis had bitten Tuhin's shoulder and the police have found the injury marks.

Investigation so far revealed that Tuhin was the last person with whom Snehashis had a talk over phone for the last time and it at around 4 am in the morning. A few hours after the phone call, his body was found beside the railway tracks near Mal Godown at Serampore Railway station.
