Flood relief: School students collect funds

Kolkata: In a unique gesture students from Masunda (NB) Boys' High School (HS) situated at New Barrackpore in North 24-Parganas have set an example as they were curtailing their expenditure and saving their pocket money for the flood affected area of North Bengal. The scout group students of the school have spearheaded the move and started collecting funds from the local residents as well so that a big amount of money can be handed over to the school authorities that would eventually go to the affected people of North Bengal districts.
The students are going door to door for collecting funds at various parts of Sajirhat and New Barrackpore. The local residents also responded well to the boys' appeal. The parents of these boys and the school headmaster Milan Majumdar were also overwhelmed by the initiative taken by the school students.
The students were collecting funds after school hours and already managed to collect some fund for the distressed people. The students said that they felt the urgency to stand by side of the people who lost everything in the flood.
