Firhad Hakim to inaugurate flyover

Kolkata: Firhad Hakim, state Urban Development minister, will inaugurate a flyover that will connect the Bagjola Canal Bank Road with the Fintech Hub, IT Hub and Education Hub of New Town.
The length of the flyover is 580m. This flyover will facilitate closing of the intersection of Biswa Bangla Sarani with the Bagjola Canal Bank Road which has turned out to be an accident-prone zone after increase of traffic load with the growth of New Town. This flyover will also facilitate a faster connectivity of Fintech Hub, Education Hub and IT Hub of New Town with the KNI Sarani (VIP Road) through Baguihati.
Hakim will inaugurate a bus terminus that has been constructed over a plot of 2.35 acre with the provision of 50 bus parking space. This terminus complex has the facility of gazebo (central sitting place), administrative Block containing a starter room, first aid room, pantry and toilets. This bus terminus has a charging station for electric buses. A space has been reserved for construction of food kiosks.
This area has three large housing complexes namely Sukhobrishti constructed by Shaporji & Pallonji, ELITA Garden Vista and DLF New Town Heights. The total number of projected population of these three housing complexes is one lakh.
Already more than 10 bus routes are operating from this location to several parts of Kolkata and Howrah. After construction of this bus terminus, it is expected that more bus routes will be introduced and inhabitants of this locality as well as other parts of New Town will be benefitted.
