Firhad Hakim, Aroop Biswas to get Z-category security cover

Kolkata: Firhad Hakim, the state Urban Development and Municipal Affairs minister, and Aroop Biswas, the state Youth Services and Sports minister, are all set to be provided with Z-category security cover.

Based on the recommendations of the Directorate of Security that reviews the security status of VVIPs from time to time, the decision to increase the security arrangement for Hakim and Biswas has been taken. Both the ministers were being given Y-category security cover so far.

With the security cover now increased to Z-category, six armed personnel will be in-charge of the security of each of the two ministers when they will be on the move. At the same time, there will be eight additional personnel who will be on duty for the security of the residence of the ministers.

Moreover, the ministers will be travelling in bulletproof cars under the Z-category security arrangement and there will also be a pilot car. At the same time, two special police officers will also be posted along with each of the two ministers.
