Fire breaks out at Sealdah Station

Kolkata: A fire broke out at Sealdah Station early on Saturday morning. Three fire tenders were pressed into action and the flames were doused within a short period of time.

Sources informed that on Saturday morning, people saw smoke coming from the direction of Sealdah South section. A few moments later, the blaze became visible from a room beside the staircase of the reservation counter. Sources informed that the room was used as a warehouse.

The fire brigade was immediately informed. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel cordoned off the area and stopped movement around it. Adjacent rooms were also made vacant. The firefighters completely extinguished the fire within a few hours. The train services were not disrupted due to the incident.
