Finance dept meets with 31 depts implementing Centre-funded projects

Kolkata: The state Finance department held a meeting with senior officials of 31 departments that had been implementing Centre-funded projects.
Meetings were held separately with each of the departments including agriculture, housing, agriculture marketing, panchayat and rural development, fisheries, irrigation, land and land reforms department and minority affairs department since the morning.
The nodal officers engaged to look after the implementation of the Centre-funded projects were also present in the meeting and they discussed different issues related to implementation of the projects and schemes.
Chief Secretary Moloy De held a review meeting with the top brass of all the concerned departments on October 31 and assessed the situation of the utilisation of the Central fund. In a bid to take a stock of the situation after 15 days of the first meeting in this connection, the state Finance department held meetings separately with all the departments.
The state Finance department is also going to hold the third-quarterly meeting with Financial Advisors on November 22 in which there will be discussions on Budget matters. Reports on the bank accounts of directorates and societies will also have to be submitted besides discussion on role of financial advisors for "successful compliance of e-tender". It is learnt that the matters related to final accounts of PSUs will also come up in the meeting.
