Film screening for underprivileged children

Kolkata: In a bid to inspire underprivileged children to fight all odds of life with bravery, a special screening of the movie Super 30 was organised for them in the city on Sunday.

"We have selected Super 30 because it has a strong message. We have organised the screening of the movie for under privileged children (who have excelled in their board exam or appearing for their board exam) to encourage and overcome the hurdle to achieve their goal," Jui Biswas, Trinamool Congress councillor from New Alipore (ward no 81) told Millennium Post, outside Indira cinema in Bhowanipore.

Around 200 underprivileged children attended the special screening of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30, directed by Vikas Bahl, having tagline 'Ab Raja Ka Beta Raja Nahin Banega.. Ab Raja Wahi Banega Jo Haqdaar Hoga..'

The movie, based on the life of award winning mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational programme, released on July 12, 2019. It also stars Mrunal Thakur, Nandish Sandhu and Pankaj Tripathi.

"I am coming here (Indira cinema) for the first time," said S Shaw, a student, who attended the special screening of Super 30 at Indira cinema.

In the movie, Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar. He rises to fame for training underprivileged children for the IIT entrance examinations. The film has been declared tax free in Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir. "Through this movie we want to encourage the under privileged children to how to cope with difficult situations in life. As a mother, I also want my daughter to see this movie. My message to the students is work hard and achieve your goal," pointed out Biswas.
