Fake job racket busted in Barrackpore, one held

Kolkata: Barrackpore Police on late Monday night busted a fake job racket and arrested a woman for her alleged involvement in the racket.
Acting on a tip off, a team of investigators raided her house in East Kalianibas area of Barrackpore and arrested her. Police have seized two weapons from the house.
The accused has been identified as Tumpa Saha. According to preliminary investigation, police suspect that some others are also involved in the incident. Police are interrogating Saha to know the names of other accused who might have been involved in this fake job racket.
After investigation, police came to know that the accused used to dupe youth with false assurance of jobs in various offices. The accused used to receive money from the people on this ground.
Police said the accused bought a house in East Kalianibus area under ward number 1 of Barrackpore Municipality, five years ago and started living there. She used to introduce herself as a top brass in a multinational company. Police said the woman whose husband works in a private organisation also duped many youth with fake job promises. She duped lakhs of money from job seekers from various parts of the state.
The matter came to light after a victim lodged compliant with the local police station stating how she was duped by the accused. On the basis of the specific complaint, police started a probe. Police said that one victim alleged that she paid money to the accused for a job in a private company.
The victim woman later came to know that she had been cheated by the accused. After starting a probe police arrested the accused on late Monday night. According to the preliminary investigation police suspect that the accused might have duped money from many job seekers.
