Fake currency racket busted, one held with Rs 10 lakh

Kolkata: The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police arrested two persons from New Market area on Tuesday on charges of circulating fake currency.
Police said they seized fake currency worth Rs 10 lakh from them.
Acting on a tip off, police conducted a raid and arrested Azad Khan (52) and Md Abdus Sattar (42).
Azad is a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Sattar is a resident of Kaliachak
in Malda.
They came to the city a few days ago and their main intension was to circulate fake currency.
Police are now trying to find out others members of the interstate fake
currency racket.
It may be recalled that the STF arrested two youth from New Market area earlier on similar charges in March.
They had arrested Rinku Sheikh (21) and Rakimul Sheikh (24) and both are residents of Kaliachak in Malda.
Police had recovered fake currency worth Rs 10 lakh from them.
They are now trying to find out whether Sattar and Azad have any connection with those arrested earlier.
